Update

I've been thinking that I need to update my blog; however, I haven't had a lot of interesting experiences lately that are "blog worthy." But in the interest of not losing the 3 loyal readers I do have I will post something.

The most interesting thing that has happened in the first few weeks of this second semester is the posting of first semester grades and class rank. I am very pleased to announce that I put in a great performance in this area. I do have one problem though, I am deathly afraid of not living up to last semester's performance in this current semester. My problem area is legal research and writing so I am attempting to double my efforts in that class to hopefully pull up that grade.

Other than that I appreciate everyone prayering for endurance over this coming semester! And if anything interesting in my life happens I'll be sure to update the blog!

Baby it's cold outside

After an uneventful trip to Canada where we managed to miss seeing a single snow flake Clay confessed last night that he had "written winter off." We both kind of figured we'd get back to OKC have a few cold days and then spring would come with a vengeance. We didn't count on 2 major back to back ice storms. Last weekend the storm got us out of work and school by noon and this weekend isn't looking any better. Anyhow, I thought I would share my favorite picture from the ice storm. Our backyard has turned into a large ice rink so Clay and I have been working on our triple axles.


In a sad note a man of God has died this week. His name is Adam Langford and he was killed in a car accident in Uganda. I knew Adam through the OC soccer team but I remember him for his amazing attitude and love for God. Heavens gain is earth's loss. Please pray that Adam's family can make peace with this as his brother's family is continuing the mission in Uganda working with AIDS patients and sharing God's love.

Confession

They say that confession is good for the soul and having been inspired by the web site PostSecret I have decided to post my own secret here on my blog. If you've never visited the PostSecret web site, it's where people anonymously mail in their darkest secrets and they are posted on the web. It's really amazing... and sad. Anyhow, I have decided to post my own secret here.

I am afraid of the dark. Yes, I know I should grow up and not be a 26 year old wuss, but I am afraid of the dark and always have been afraid. When I was a little girl I was never allowed to watch scary movies, nor did I want to because I would be too freaked out for far too long. However, the Freddy Kruger movies were really popular back then and all of the kids would talk about this scary guy with knifes for fingers who would walk around killing people. Forever I had a fear he would come attack me at night so I always had my be placed against a wall so he couldn't jump up from behind and kill me. Furthermore, I always looked forward to the day I was married so I'd have some guy there to watch my back as I slept. I have no idea why I wanted to have a guard to protect me before I was brutally murdered, but I guess I wanted to face impending death with my eyes open. (Yes, you can stop laughing now.)

Anyhow, as I've gotten older my fear has not subsided. In fact I told Clay I wanted to get BIG dogs so that when he's gone they can protect me. I had NO idea I would get the 2 biggest wusses known to mankind. So Baxter and Maggie are not a great deal of comfort, but they do have a threatening woof so maybe it's helpful.

That brings us to the present. So Clay is out of town and yet again I'm faced with the fear of being home by myself at night. Luckily I have made some great friends in law school who think my fear is completely ridiculous, but they humor me by coming and staying the night so at least I can get some sleep. So I just want to thank my great law school friends for their support of my completely irrational fear!

Hiatus

Sorry I've been out of touch lately, but a few weeks off school made me lazy and took me out of the country where I couldn't blog. Clay and I went to Canada for Christmas and had a grand old time. I am perhaps the biggest wuss when it comes to cold but I went on my first "one horse open sleigh" ride... okay it was 2 horses, but you get the picture. We also had a lot of fun visiting with Clay's family and extended family. The low point was each of us getting a sinus infection... not a lot of fun. Other highlights included a safe trip where we never saw a single snow flake. We also had a super easy border crossing both going and coming. And, over the break I was able to finish some pottery. Santa was also good to us this year... Apparently both Clay and I were very good in 2006! I've decided to attach some pictures of my pottery for those who are interested in seeing some of my work. These are a few of my favorite pieces I finished this year. I'll post more pics since I have a couple of pieces in work that I think will turn out great. I've also decided to sell my work so if you're a blog reader and are looking for a unique gift, give me a call.
